I'm Aruka Sanchir, a Los Angeles-based writer and editor. I'm currently the Beauty & Style Editor (plus more!) for VegNews Magazine, a plant-based lifestyle print and online publication. I've focused on a wide range of topics including travel, beauty, fashion, and food.

My Story
I fell in love with writing ever since I was a child, logging long hours in my journals and eventually my laptop, where I wrote a YA fiction book while in middle school (the file for which has long been lost). So naturally, when it came time to pick a major in college, it was a no-brainer. I received my B.A. in Journalism and Media Communications from Colorado State University while also minoring in Philosophy. I also worked at the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center as its Communications Manager for three years. I've interned at a newspaper in the Arts & Entertainment department and a clothing boutique as a videographer.
Right out of college, I received the opportunity to become an intern at VegNews Magazine, the largest vegan media brand in the world, reaching 4.2 million people each month through its various print and digital platforms. Since then, I've worked my way up to an Assistant Editor position and eventually, the Beauty & Style Editor with my own column in each issue. I've interviewed many celebrities, written restaurant reviews, and published various features on a range of topics.
